Aims and Objectives
Objective 1 - we will better engage with our tenants
Outcomes
- There will be an increase in the number of tenants groups
- The capacity of all our tenants groups will increase
- Tenants/residents groups will increase their responsibility for work done in their communities
- We will improve the scale and quality of information we provide to tenants
Outputs
- Tenants / residents groups will be established in those areas where there are none
- Each tenants group will create a Community Action Plan detailing their activities for the coming year
- Calton Area Association will develop a business plan for the creation of a sustainable community facility in the area
- We will explore the potential for a digital inclusion service to improve the way we communicate with tenants
Objective 2 - we will address unemployment in our communities
Outcomes
- We will increase support to beneficiaries of our financial inclusion service by establishing an employability element to the project
- We will generate local jobs and training places from our housing investments by including a Community Benefit Clause in all of our future project procurement
- We will increase the support we provide to young people and that will include assistance to develop the confidence and the skills for employment
Outputs
- We will prepare a written Community Benefit Clause with the assistance of Glasgow Regeneration Agency
- We will expand the role of our financial inclusion project to include support towards employment for those tenants needing that assistance
- We will increase the support provided by Urban Fox to young people in Castlemilk and sustain the project beyond 2012
- We will work with Aberlour Children’s Service to establish a project supporting young people in Calton
Objective 3 - we will maintain/expand our financial inclusion work
Outcomes
- We will maintain the level of support to all tenants that they now enjoy from the Financial Inclusion Project
- We will increase support to those tenants who are aiming to find their way into work
- We will reduce the number of tenants suffering fuel poverty
- We will reduce our reliance on grant support to maintain this provision
Outputs
- We will expand the role of our financial inclusion project to include support towards employment for those tenants needing that assistance
- We will establish an Energy Efficiency project in Bridgeton
- We will prepare a business plan for a Financial Service that we offer on a commercial basis to small housing associations
Objective 4 - we will improve community amenities
Outcomes
- We will help to establish a community facility in Calton
- We will utilise our existing area offices as bases for service delivery (from a wide range of agencies) and community engagement
Outputs
- In partnership with Calton Area Association and Glasgow Regeneration Agency we will prepare a business plan with which to approach funding agencies
- We will secure Big Lottery funding for the capital costs of the project
- We will produce Community Action Plans in partnership with each of the Area Associations detailing wider community services to be provided from local offices.
