Warm Home Discount Scheme

For winter 2017 to 2018, you may be eligible to receive £140 off your electricity bill through the Warm Home Discount Scheme.

What you'll receive if you qualify

If you qualify for the discount, you should receive a letter from DWP by the 30th November 2017 at the latest telling you either:
• You don’t have to apply - you’ll receive the discount automatically.
• You must apply by 31 January 2018 - the letter will tell you why and how.

Eligibility

You qualify for the discount if on 09 July 2017 all of the following applied:
• Your electricity supplier was part of the scheme (see list below).
• Your name (or your partner’s) was on the bill.
• You were receiving the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit (even if you receive Savings Credit as well).

If you don’t qualify

If you don’t receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit you may be able to apply directly to your electricity supplier for help if:
• You’re on a low income.
• You receive certain means-tested benefits.

• Atlantic, Bristol Energy, British Gas, Co-operative energy, EDF Energy, E.ON, Equipower, Equigas, Extra Energy, First Utility, GB Energy, Manweb, M&S Energy, npower, Our Power, OVO, Sainsbury’s Energy, Scottish Gas, Scottish Hydro, ScottishPower, Southern Electric, SSE
