A Fitting End To The 40th Year

We are pleased to announce that Gary Naylor has been appointed as Head of Community Housing Services. Currently at Peaks and Plains Housing Trust, (Macclesfield, near Manchester), Gary has been appointed to replace Brian Gannon who is now Chief Executive at West of Scotland Housing Association. A Very Happy Anniversary

We celebrated our 40th anniversary with our Members on Friday, October 25 at West on the Green near our office in Calton.

As you can imagine it was a very special day filled with nostalgia and, of course, a great sense of history.

Our Happy Anniversary Homes!

Housing Minister Kevin Stewart has officially opened our new development of 49 homes costing £9.3 million in the east end on the same day we are 40 years old .

A centrepiece of the development has been the restoration of the “listed” and iconic former Monteith Hotel – once an impressive city mansion built in 1823.

Beth Reilly Shortlisted for National Award

Beth Reilly retired from Thenue in August after 28 years with the Association.

Now Beth has been shortlisted for the Chartered Institute of Housing’s Excellence Award in the category of “Outstanding Contribution to Housing.”

We are holding a job and volunteering fair on Thursday, 12 September from 12.30 to 3 pm at the Calton Heritage and Learning Centre, London Road, Calton.

It is a Jobs and Volunteering Fair with a Difference. A key highlight will be a Jobs and Volunteering Board with actual opportunities for people to apply for. Read more

28 Years Later - Thank You!

Earlier this summer Thenue announced the pending retiral of Beth Reilly, Head of Property Services, who had been with us for 28 years. Attending her very last meeting of the Board of Management, Beth was presented with an oil painting depicting a scene from Colonsay, a place where Beth and her family have spent many a happy summer holiday. Help us Shape our Community Regeneration Strategy

Our Community Regeneration Strategy is due for review. This document sets out our priorities for community projects for the next 3 years.

We know that many of our residents are facing increasing challenges such as welfare reform, securing employment, living in the digital age, social isolation, lack of opportunities and health inequality. What is required is local action to tackle area inequality, create opportunities and improve communities.

We are reviewing our Allocation Policy

We are reviewing our Allocation Policy. This policy sets out the rules for how we allocate available homes as fairly as possible. We have worked with our Tenant Scrutiny Panel to decide on a list of survey questions for customers to consider as part of this policy review consultation.
