Thenue Housing has played host to a group of students undertaking their housing studies at the University of Stirling.

They visited the former Commonwealth Games Village at Dalmarnock which is being turned into housing in one of the biggest ever housing legacies Glasgow has ever seen.

The students are all undertaking their Postgraduate Diploma in Housing Studies (with internship) and the visit was a valuable insight into how the development will soon become homes for tenants in the city’s east end.

Thenue along with West of Scotland Housing Association and GHA are buying a total of 400 of the homes with the first tenants moving in within the next few months. Thenue is purchasing 200.

A key part of the transformation is the installation of kitchens which did not exist while the Games were taking place as athletes ate together in communal dining areas.

Beth Reilly, Head of Property Services at Thenue, said: “We were delighted to host this visit which hopefully gave the students an insight into how these properties will shortly become home to 200 families.”
