Our Board of Management

Our Board of Management takes on the responsibility of running the Association’s affairs, but also plays an important role in developing our various communities.  It provides strategic leadership and monitors and evaluates the organisation’s business to achieve continued improvements for customers.

Members of the Board of Management are expected to:

  • Have an interest in making our communities better places to live
  • Keep up to date with Regulatory requirements and the legal framework surrounding housing
  • Keep up to date with the local operating environment
  • Attend training and keep knowledge current
  • Prepare for meetings, attend and contribute
  • Make informed decisions
  • Represent the organisation positively and effectively
  • Respect the confidentiality of Thenue's business
  • Work effectively with Thenue staff
  • Annually complete a declaration of interest return

Member Profiles

DEREK QUINN (Chairperson)

Date First Elected - 11th September 2012

Derek was elected Chairperson following the Annual General Meeting in September 2018.  Derek is a local resident and has a genuine interest in what's happening in our communities.

 

GEORGE ALEXANDER

Date First Elected - 25th June 1998

George has been a member of the Board of Management since 1998 and is a Board member of Thenue Communities.  In 1992 George joined Netherholm Housing Association prior to the transfer to Thenue in 1998.  He currently is a member of the Netherholm Area Association Committee and has served as Chairperson.  George has lived in his current house for over 30 years and is a retired Fire Fighter.  George is also the 2nd member of Thenue’s Board of Management to attain a SQA Qualification in Governance of Scottish Housing Associations. George was  Chairperson of the Association from 2012-2014.

Pauline Casey

PAULINE CASEY (Vice Chair)

Date First Elected - 13th September 2016

Pauline was elected Vice Chair following the Annual General Meeting in September 2018.  Pauline is a local resident who has lived in her current home for over 40 years.  She has a genuine passion for making the area better and safer place for all.

MAUREEN DOWDEN (Vice Chair)

Date First Elected - 16th September 2014

Maureen was elected Vice Chair following the Annual General Meeting in September 2018. Maureen has over 30 years experience working in the housing environment and is commited to community governance, tenant empowerment and listening & working with tenants to improve housing & services. She has considerable experience working with governing body members, providing support on self assessment, appraisal & board development linked to the Regulatory requirements for the Scottish Social Housing Charter and tenant scrutiny.

ABDIFATAH HAYDE

Date First Elected - 12th September 2017

Abdifatah, a local resident, has studied computer networking and IT and has a strong interest in delivering great customer service.  Abdifatah joined the Board of Management as he wants to have an active role in his local community and is interested in the work of the Association.

JEANETTE GOODE

Date First Elected - 18th September 2018

Jeanette, a local resident, is a positive forward-thinking person with a strong moral and ethical approach who has a varied amount of technical, customer facing, external and internal stakeholder engagement and logistical expertise.

David Keltie-Armstrong

DAVID KELTIE-ARMSTRONG

Date First Elected - 18th September 2018

David has many years of experience of planning and delivering marketing and communication programmes in the public, private and volunatary sectors - inhouse and agency.  He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.  David plans, develops, monitors and delivers the internal and external communications across traditional and digital channels. 

 

CHARLOTTE LEVY

Date First Elected - 1st June 1996

Charlotte has contributed to community activities over many years and was Chairperson from 2002 to 2007.  Charlotte has lived in the local area for many years and is an active member of the Calton Retirement Housing Tenants Association, especially in fundraising.

Nicola McCurdy

NICOLA MCCURDY

Date First Elected - 13th September 2016

Nicola is a local resident and has 27 years of combined experience in Housing law, Community development & Nursing (Management and Teaching). Nicola has previously served on committees involved in major regeneration projects. Nicola has particular interests in self sustainability, Community gardening and best practice uses for Community funding

 

HOWARD MOLE

Date First Elected - 15th September 2015

Howard worked with Royal Bank of Scotland plc from 1977 to 2014. As an experienced Relationship/Associate Director, dealing exclusively with Registered Social Landlords, he gained many years experience in understanding the finance sector, gaining extensive knowledge and expertise in building customer relationships, financial analysis and business administration fields. 

 

 

Florence

FLORENCE O'HALE

Date First Elected - 13th September 2016

Florence is a local resident interested in health and wellbeing and is actively involved in community development, serving as a member of the Poverty Leadership Panel (PLP) under the Citizens Activist Panel.  She decided to join the Board of Management as part of her personal commitment to getting involved in her local community.

 

WILLIE REDMOND

Date First Elected - 13th September 2005

Willie was Vice Chair from September 2009 to September 2010.  Willie has lived in the local area for a long period of time having been decanted from demolished property and moved into a new house.  Willie was Secretary of Bridgeton and Dalmarnock Housing Association before its transfer to Thenue and is involved in a wide range of community organisations.  Willie is Thenue's 3rd Board member to attain an SQA Qualification in Governance of Scottish Housing Associations.

OWEN STEWART  

Date First Elected - 15th September 2009

Owen is a local resident, an active member of the Bridgeton & Dalmarnock Area Association and served on the steering committee for the BEEP (Bridgeton Energy Efficiency Project). Owen was Chairperson of the Association from 2014-2018.
