Our Subsidiaries

Thenue Trust

The Thenue Trust was established in February of 2002, under Trust Deed.  The purposes of the Trust is to promote further, or support all or any, activities deemed by law to be charitable. The Thenue Trust will provide grant support for individuals living within the communities where Thenue Housing operates in the furtherance of their personal achievement or personal development.  These grants are designed to provide financial assistance to support local people in the achievement of excellence and personal development in areas such as (but not limited to) education, employment, training, sport and the arts.

Grants will be subject to meeting the criteria and availability of funds. Examples of activities which we can fund include:

  • the offer of prizes for incentives in respect of special achievement;
  • contribution towards the cost of individual items of expenditure such as books, computer, sports equipment, travel costs associated with personal achievement or development where such objectives will benefit an individual and their community;
  • applying for a charitable grant from the Thenue Trust is quite straightforward - simply download our policy and application form.

Thenue Services

Part of the Thenue Group, Thenue  Services was established as a non-charitable wholly owned subsidiary of the Housing Association.

When it was established in 1979 its primary purpose was to provide services to other associations and co-operatives which were either too small to employ their own staff or were newly established and had yet to employ staff.

We also provided services to associations undergoing a period of change by the provision of experienced staff, providing a range of services from Officer to Director level.

Over the years, we have continued to provide development services to a wide range of housing associations in Glasgow and the surrounding area and in addition to this core business, we have provided independent advice to tenants, consultancy and training and the provision of Acting Chief Executive/Director.

While the traditional development work has reduced over the last few years due to the effects of cutbacks on the new build programme, we still provide this service and welcome enquires.

Thenue Communities is a charitable subsidiary of Thenue Housing Association.

The charity manages two community centres, Calton Heritage & Learning Centre (CHLC) based in Calton and Netherholm Community Hall based in Netherholm.  The management board is made up of six community representatives who hold the majority vote, the remaining four places are reserved for two Thenue staff members and two independent board members.
