Our Board of Management
Our Board of Management takes on the responsibility of running the Association’s affairs, but also plays an important role in developing our various communities. It provides strategic leadership and monitors and evaluates the organisation’s business to achieve continued improvements for customers.
Members of the Board of Management are expected to:
- Have an interest in making our communities better places to live
- Keep up to date with Regulatory requirements and the legal framework surrounding housing
- Keep up to date with the local operating environment
- Attend training and keep knowledge current
- Prepare for meetings, attend and contribute
- Make informed decisions
- Represent the organisation positively and effectively
- Respect the confidentiality of Thenue's business
- Work effectively with Thenue staff
- Annually complete a declaration of interest return

PAULINE CASEY (Chair) Date First Elected - 13th September 2016 Pauline was elected Chair following the Annual General Meeting in September 2021. Pauline is a local resident who has lived in her current home for over 40 years. She has a genuine passion for making the area better and safer place for all.

LINDA CHELTON Joined April 2021 Linda has worked in Social Housing for the past 32 years. She is currently Chief Executive at a Housing Association in South Glasgow. A Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing she holds the Post Graduate Diploma in Housing and Sustainable Communities. Linda specialises in tenancy sustainment (helping tenants to ensure they keep their tenancy) and community involvement. She wrote and delivered "Passport to Housing" (tenancy sustainment qualification) to students in England before moving to Scotland in 2016 where she worked for Hanover Scotland Housing Association. In 2017 Linda worked in partnership with Tony Husband the renowned and award winning cartoonist and author to write a customer friendly, illustrated tenant participation document especially for older people and those with forms of dementia. |

ABDIFATAH HAYDE Date First Elected - 12th September 2017 Abdifatah, a local resident, has studied computer networking and IT and has a strong interest in delivering great customer service. Abdifatah joined the Board of Management as he wants to have an active role in his local community and is interested in the work of the Association

ROBERT KELLY Joined February 2021 Robert became Association of British Credit Unions Ltd (ABCUL) CEO in September 2018 after 10 years as NHS Credit Union CEO based in Glasgow. His background is in accountancy and finance and he has held a number of executive and non-executive roles across the financial services sector, charitable and housing sector including organisations such as Glasgow Credit Union, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Morgan Stanley along with a previous spell on the Thenue Housing Association Management Committee and currently independent Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Robert has extensive experience in strategic and talent development, corporate governance and is firmly committed to the ethos of co-operation and collaboration as a means of empowering businesses, people and communities alike. |

BRYAN MCMAHON Joined April 2021 Bryan has extensive experience as Director of Property Services for a local social landlord. He has worked within the construction and housing association movement for the past 25 years and has gained vast knowledge of both sectors. He brings to Thenue, an in-depth understanding of asset management, statutory requirements and construction related issues within the housing sector. |

HOWARD MOLE Date First Elected - 15th September 2015 Howard worked with Royal Bank of Scotland plc from 1977 to 2014. As an experienced Relationship/Associate Director, dealing exclusively with Registered Social Landlords, he gained many years experience in understanding the finance sector, gaining extensive knowledge and expertise in building customer relationships, financial analysis and business administration fields. |

RUTH HEWITT Date First Elected - 19th September 2023 Ruth has worked within the housing sector for three years, having graduated with a BAcc degree in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Glasgow. Ruth is an exam-qualified chartered accountant and will be admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland in 2024. She is a passionate advocate of community engagement and empowerment.

JULIA CHEUNG-BUCHANAN Joined September 2024 Julia was elected in September 2024 and has a proven track record in the Scottish development sector, delivering a range of affordable housing, regeneration, commercial and industrial projects of various sizes and complexity from both client and contracting side, with a design and technical background in architecture and urban design.

NEVE BEATON Date First Elected - September 2024 Neve was elected in September 2024 and has a keen interest in the social value provided by the work of Housing Associations. Currently working within the housing sector, Neve brings procurement skills and knowledge to the role.

MAUREEN DOWDEN Co-optee, Appointed September 2024 Maureen was co-opted to the Thenue Board in September 2024. She has worked in housing for almost 40 years, a career that started in local government and went on to include senior positions at Wheatley Homes Glasgow and Wheatley Group prior to retiring in early 2018. She has a particular expertise in corporate governance in regulated environments, and community empowerment and engagement. An experienced Non-Executive, Maureen has previously held roles on the Boards of Quality Scotland Foundation, Loretto Housing Association and Supporting Communities Northern Ireland and is currently the Chair of the Board of Management at Wheatley Homes Glasgow.
