We are pleased to bring you an update on our exciting new mural in the east end which is attracting considerable attention. In our Spring Newsletter we told you of our plans to create the mural which reflects our strong bond to Glasgow.

We are named after St Thenue – mother of Glasgow’s patron saint St Mungo and few housing associations can boast the historical connection to the city that we can. That’s why we have commissioned renowned Glasgow artist Mark Worst to work with us in creating a mural on the tenement gable (pictured with Mark before the work began and as it begins to take shape) which reflects the connection Thenue has with Glasgow.

It will be a striking new landmark and where better to do it than close to our London Road offices. Now in the coming weeks passers by on Abercromby Street will see our mural completed. We cant wait to see what it looks like!

Charles Turner, our Chief Executive said: “This is an important artwork which reinforces the strong historical connection Thenue has with the city of Glasgow It also transforms a gable end wall into a new east end landmark which we are sure will be welcomed by many local people and others passing by.”
