Last updated: 11.05am, Tuesday 16th February 2021 by

The Board of Thenue Housing and Thenue Communities are actively recruiting new Board members and if you are interested in applying please read the following:

THENUE HOUSING is a Registered Social Landlord and charity owning nearly 3000 properties and provides a factoring service to a further 600 owner/occupiers. Our properties are located in Bridgeton, Calton, Cranhill, Castlemilk, Dalmarnock, Scotstoun, Baillieston and Blackhill.

We are committed to developing, managing and maintaining a range of affordable, quality housing and sustainable communities. The Board is responsible for running the Association’s affairs and plays an important role in developing our various communities. It provides strategic leadership, sets objectives, exercises scrutiny and monitors and evaluates the organisation’s business in order to deliver continued improvements for our customers.

THENUE COMMUNITIES is a wholly-owned charitable subsidiary of Thenue Housing. Managing two community centres, Calton Heritage & Learning Centre (CHLC) based in Calton and Netherholm Community Hall based in Netherholm.

To enhance the strength and diversity of Thenue Housing and Thenue Communities boards, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for making a difference to local communities.

We are particularly keen to hear from people with skills, knowledge and experience as follows:

• Social Enterprise
As a charity we consider ourselves a social enterprise that exists primarily to benefit our communities (rather than shareholders or owners) and are commercially viable with a purpose of generating social impact. Having this philosophy on our Board will help to make us more diverse and stronger.

• Maintenance and asset management
Qualified staff with extensive experience in asset management are employed, however, this is an area we wish to strengthen on the Board, especially with regard to domestic and housing related strategic oversight.

• Legal
An individual with a specific legal background to help the association to continue to grow and develop in this particular area.

Diverse Boards are vital to our ongoing success and we particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups.

This role is voluntary and unpaid with reasonable out of pocket expenses being paid. Support will be given in the role through ongoing training, development and mentoring.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Charles Turner, Chief Executive, 0141 550 9506. For an application pack please visit the documents section of Thenue’s website.

The closing date for applications is 28th February 2021 with completed forms emailed to ray.macleod@thenuehousing.co.uk
